100% of this footage was taken during the 36th Annual Clear Lake Team Bass Tournament that took place on 3/16/24 & 3/17/24. Laura McAndrews Sammel, CEO of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce presented checks to the winners.

The Lake County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the winners of the 36th Annual Clear Lake Team Bass Tournament, generously sponsored by Sutter Health. This tournament began in 1987 and immediately demonstrated to the community how important bass tournaments are to our local economic development.

This year, 111 teams registered for the event, bringing 222 anglers to Lake County for the two-day tournament. Coming in first place were Monica and John Hampel of Reno, Nevada. This is the first time in the history of this tournament that a woman has taken the top prize. In addition to the 55.73 pounds of bass that the team caught during the two-day tournament, Monica also caught the largest fish on both days. On Saturday, she caught a bass that weighed 8.18 pounds and another that weighed 8.03 pounds on Sunday. The couple left the tournament with $7,000 of prize money, $5,000 for receiving first place and $1,000 for each of the “Big Fish.” The second-place team, Paul Bailey and Seth Dandridge, of Kelseyville and Clearlake Oaks respectively, caught 54.84 pounds of bass and took home $5,000 in prize money. The team won an additional $1,000 for catching the “Heaviest Bag” as the five bass that they caught on Sunday weighed 31.94 pounds. The third-place team, Mike Hitomi of Lucerne and Frank Ono of Hidden Valley Lake, caught 51.83 pounds of bass and took home $2,000 in prize money.

In addition to acknowledging Sutter Health’s generous sponsorship, the Lake County Chamber of Commerce would also like to thank American Bass. Craig Sutherland has served as the tournament’s director for the last three years. He and his team have done a wonderful job organizing the logistics of the event to ensure the safety of the anglers and the bass alike.

The Clearlake Bassmasters served as the release boat for the event, ensuring that all of the bass caught during the tournament were released back into the lake, alive and well. Finally, we are also grateful to David Noland of HD Video Creations for serving as the event’s photographer and videographer. The California Speed Boat Association, sponsors and volunteers are putting on the Buckingham Test & Tune on May 17th 18th and 19th of 2024 This Free to the public event will take place at the Buckingham Golf & Country Club Located at 2855 Eastlake Drive Kelseyville California

Three days of fun surrounded by a gathering of Vintage Speed Boats Classic Cars and Trucks. Room for RVs and motor homes. On Friday May 17th the fun begins with Boats out on the water by 12:00noon Then classic Cars & Trucks gather at the clubhouse at 3:00pm for the Do Wop Cruise to the Lady Luck Garage located at 4010 Main St, Kelseyville California. Drive along the shores of Clear Lake to the Lady Luck Garage and back by 5:00pm for the 50s outfitted sock hop dance.

Wear your best 50s outfit and dance to the Tattooed Cherry’s. Check in time 5:00pm to 5:30pm only. Tasty hors d oeuvres and more will be available. On Saturday May 18 th cruise on back by 8:00am and start your day off with coffee, donuts and a Show & Shine for static vintage boats, cars and trucks. 8:00am also kicks off a full day of vintage speed boat racing action off the shores of the Buckingham Golf and Country Club.

Hydro Planes small to large, V Drive runabouts, and Cracker Box speed boats will be running on a predestinated course just in front of the club house all while the finest classic cars, trucks and vintage static boats are on display. On Sunday May 19th cruise your classic back to the Car Truck & Boat show to an 8:00am pancake breakfast and attend the awards ceremony at 2:00pm where there will be Nine Custom one of a kind trophies awarded to the winners.
